Denver, CO — (AP) Denver’s oldest golf course has closed, after a fire destroyed the course’s clubhouse and clubhouse garage.
The Colorado Golf Club at the edge of the Denver metro area, about 40 miles northwest of Denver, had been closed since the weekend because of the fire.
The club said the clubhouse and garage was destroyed by the fire Friday morning, and it was too soon to say how much money would be saved by the club’s closure.
The golf course is in a residential area.
It is unclear whether the club will be able to reopen, and the golf course will not be re-opened until repairs are made, said Dan McGlone, the club president.
